I kinda knew that putting my reworked version of 'Anna's Cuckold' in the 'Loving Wives' section of Literotica was asking for trouble (despite the fact that Literotica descibes it as follows - 'Married extra-marital fun: swinging, sharing & more') and, well the trolls did not disappoint! The story also got a terrible score of 2.3/5.0 which is my worst score by a mile - however I believe over time this will improve because eventually it will be found by people searching for 'Cuckold' stories, who will probably give it a better reception.
I wouldn't have put a story in this category if I had spend ages writing it, but I literally spent about an hour redoing it from the original and so it was worth the risk and wouldn't you know it, despite the harsh criticism (someone actually went to the effort of sending me private feedback which just said 'You are a disgrace to the male gender') I noticed the story was added to some people's favourites along with other stories of mine. So perhaps this was worthwhile if only to find some new readers.
Interestingly, I noticed that most of the commenters didn't have Literotica accounts, or didn't post comments using their account names. But two of the ones who did were both 'retired Army veterans'. So I looked at one of their account pages and while they haven't written any stories of their own (surprise, surprise) the authors they follow write largely about cheating wives and tales of revenge.
I've actually noticed these stories a lot on Literotica lately and it's a weird phenomenon. I started reading one once, kinda by accident and it just went on and on and on for page after page detailing this elaborate plan to humiliate the wife for her cheating ways, it wasn't even erotic at all. It was just thousands of words of hatred and vitriol that I imagine can only be borne of a failed marriage.
But it's nice that these people still have time to read a story with the word 'Cuckold' in the title (let's not forget) and then bless the author with some of that all-American righteous hatred. Gotta feel good to put a worthless maggot in his place I imagine.
Anyhoo...
I've never been to Literotica but based on some of what you've said, it does not sound like a very nice place. Which makes me wonder why you don't just post here on your blog, forget about that site, and maybe enjoy things/life a bit more?
ReplyDeleteHi Vanessa... I've just realised your comment needed approving - I don't know why that should be? Umm, well yes I guess you have a point, but on the flip side here a story will maybe get 200 views on Literotica it could get over 100,000... so there is that.

I've long suspected those reviews are written by the same two or three people, who vet every single story posted under said category for years. I've seen similar behavior elsewhere online in different contexts. (That is, people who respond to literally everything, for years on end.)
ReplyDeleteDisabling anonymous reviews would go a ways into suppressing this behavior.
Hi Thanks for your comment, undoubtedly there is a posse at work in the Loving Wives section!

It's also weird how fast those negative reviews come in, which is one reason I'm convinced those reviews come from a consistent set of participants.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's almost like they're sitting around waiting for something to hate.... bizarre behaviour.
